1. Cala Llombards
Cala Llombards is a gorgeous cove southeast of Mallorca, close to the charming village of Es Llombards. It’s a tiny beach about 55 metres long, surrounded by lush pine trees. The secluded spot is a haven for snorkelers, thanks to its crystal-clear waters. Plus, the water is calm with no waves, making it ideal for families with children.
Since Cala Llombards is far from touristy places, it’s more famous with locals than tourists. The beach is perfect for those looking for a quiet area to swim and relax. It doesn’t have the busy vibe that the other party beaches in Mallorca have.
However, if you are snorkelling, you will be in for a treat. Cala Llombards has two large rocks on both sides of the cove, home to colourful fish and other fascinating marine creatures, which you’ll have the chance to explore on your snorkelling adventure.
You can access Cala Llombards by car or bike off the main road to Es Llombards. If you are in Ses Salines, the beach is only about a 15 to 20 min drive away. No buses or public transport would come through here, which is one of the reasons the beach is not that crowded.
2. Maioris
Playa Maioris is a stunning, pristine, clean, and pebbly beach, luring swimmers, snorkelers, and those who want to relax while working on their tan. Its secluded location makes it a favourite for those who prefer to swim au naturel. The clothing-optional beach has crystal-clear waters, making it one of the best places for snorkelling in Mallorca.
Even if you’re not snorkelling, you’ll love Playa Maioris since it’s incredibly scenic. The views here are spectacular, boasting warm weather all year round. You’ll love relaxing along its shore, soaking in the relaxing atmosphere, and admiring the breathtaking scenery of a big sandy beach surrounded by rugged cliffs.
Getting to Maioris requires a 20-minute drive from Palma and about a 15 to 30-minute walk to the sea through small footpaths. However, the effort is well worth it. The vast sandy beach has many small plateaus. Also, the further you walk to the right, the more secluded and quieter it gets.
It’s best to wear a pair of water shoes while in Playa Maioris since you may need to walk along rocky shores before you reach the area to snorkel. Since there is no lifeguard on duty and the water can sometimes get rough with strong waves, Maioris may not be suitable for families with little kids.
3. Cala des Moro
Described as Mallorca’s best-kept secret, Caló des Moro is a fascinating place to visit and one of the best places for snorkelling in Mallorca. The gorgeous virgin beach is about 40 metres long, set between pine trees and rocks, offering an oasis to relax, swim, and snorkel.
Located in the southeast of Mallorca, Calo des Moro has a unique shape similar to a long swimming pool. Its powdery white sands and crystal-clear turquoise waters lure divers and snorkelers. Calo des Moro is about 30 metres wide and is largely unknown to tourists. Thus, the crowd often consists of a few locals who have come to discover this uniquely shaped beach.
As one of the most secluded beaches in Mallorca, getting to Calo des Moro does not come easy. In fact, finding it is tricky since there are no signs. But given how gorgeous the beach is, it’s definitely well worth the effort.
Starting in Santanyi, follow the road towards Cala Llombards. Along this road, you’ll see signs for Cala S’Almunia. Calo des Moro is about 1 km from here. You’ll find a small car park when you are near the cove. From here, walk for 20 minutes to get to Calo des Moro.
4. Badia Blava
Located about 15 kilometres from Llucmajor, Badia Blava is home to stunning beaches that offer the perfect spot for snorkelling. Its stunning coast features breathtaking cliffs with steep descents leading towards the Mediterranean Sea.
Getting to the snorkelling spot of Badia Blava requires descending to cliffs and passing through a shaded area with wooden benches. At the end, you will find a wooden staircase from which you can reach the cove. Badía Blava is a small rocky cove with truly breathtaking views.
Getting to Badia Blava from Palma requires a 20-minute drive. You will find a parking lot at the beach to accommodate up to 20 cars. After parking your car, follow the road to the wooden stairs to climb down to the beach. If you can’t wait to take a refreshing dip, feel free to jump from the stairs directly into the water! But be careful, since it can get slippery.

5. Cala Agulla
Located on the Artá Peninsula, north of the holiday town of Cala Ratjada, Cala Agulla is a fantastic beach with breathtaking views, making it one of Mallorca’s top snorkelling spots. Nestled between lush forests and majestic mountains, it is about 50 metres wide and 500 metres long. It has fine, powdery white sands with crystal clear waters, making it well-suited for diving and snorkelling.
Cala Agulla is close to the famous Cala Ratjada beach along the northeast coast of Mallorca. Right next to Cala Agulla are small scenic bays perfect for snorkelling. Getting to these bays requires a few minutes’ walk from Cala Agulla. Here, the waters are crystal clear, and the underwater scenery consists of colourful corals and big rocks home to different marine life.
Even if you do not intend to snorkel, you will love hanging out on this beach for its breathtaking views, looking out to the spectacular green mountains and the expansive ocean.
