Yangon Market

A Must-see in Downtown Yangon

In the heart of the fascinating Burmese capital city, the Bogyoke Aung San Market was built in 1926 by the British when they were ruling Myanmar, and was originally called Scott Market.

As a tourist, it is really cool to explore all the corners of this market selling all kinds of products, from fabrics to works of art, with a big central area dedicated to jewelry. If you are looking for local handicraft, you should try your luck in this market!

I love your 3d or panoramic views. Darcee & I are considering Myanmar this coming 2018 so I am researching all the cities I need to visit and Yangon is definitely one of the areas we want to explore. How was the food in the Bogyoke Aung San Market?

Hey Eric, thanks for your comment! It’s awesome you are thinking of going to Myanmar next year, it’s an amazing country. To be honest I didn’t try any food from the market itself but I generally liked the food in the country, quite exotic!
