“Three, two, one, fly…” Those are the words your bungee instructors will say before you take the leap of faith and jump headfirst from the top of a bridge or any other tall structure. Adrenalin sets in as you free fall towards the ground at great speed which is sure to violate traffic violations if driven in a car. But this isn’t a car. This is you falling with nothing more than a rope attached to your ankles.
If you don’t think it’s possible to be afraid and excited at the same time, then you need to try bungee jumping. But it is this weird combination of fear, thrill, and adrenaline that makes adventure junkies insatiable. It’s what they can’t get enough of and that’s why they keep coming back. Bungee jumping is one of the most popular extreme sports in the world. Now, you know the reason for that.
Bungee jumping destinations are scattered all over the world with the sport more popular in some countries than others. If you live in the United States, there are a couple of places you can take the leap of faith. This article focuses on bungee jumping destinations in Texas, USA. Here we go.
Gravity Adventure Park, South Padre Island, Texas

Every adventure junkie in Texas knows of Gravity Adventure Park. The park has several adventure activities including bungee jumping. You can expect two different bungee activities at Grand Adventure Park. The first is the Bungee Grands which is the tallest bungee jump in Texas. You need a lot of guts to bungee jump at the Bungee Grande. But if you take the leap, it’s a rewarding experience that’s going to stay with you for life.
The second bungee activity in the park is the Rocket which is the tallest reverse bungee in the world. So, if you feel like having a different type of bungee adventure, the Rocket got you covered.
Zero Gravity, Dallas, Texas
*Permanently closed.
- Website: gojump.com
- Telephone: +1 972-484-8359
In Northern Texas, you have the currently closed Zero Gravity Thrill park which was renowned in Texas and beyond for the variety of adventure sports such as bungee jumping, skycoaster, skyscraper, ejection seat, and so on.
As mentioned earlier, the Park is currently closed as the landlord of the site of the park sold the land. While there is no return date yet, Zero Gravity is hoping they could resume operations in another location. I’ll also update this article if there’s any information about an opening at a different site.
Closest Bungee Jumping in Nearby States
Rio Grande Bridge, Taos, New Mexico

Texas shares a border with New Mexico and you can decide to take a trip to the ‘Land of Enchantment.’ In New Mexico, you have the Rio Grande Bridge, also referred to as the ‘Gorge Bridge’ by locals. And the Rio Grande is the tallest bungee jump destination in the US. The height of the bridge is 565 ft and there’s a river below. The surrounding is also beautiful which adds to your overall bungee jumping experience.
The least we can say is that there aren’t a lot of bungee jumping companies in the US, but if you live in Texas, you do have some opportunities! If you are ready to travel to the neighboring states, you can take a look at New Mexico, as suggested above. But this is just an example, don’t hesitate to browse all opportunities in other nearby states as well.
